On this Date: April 25, 1993

A lot of people point to the 1997 Knicks team as the one with the most talent that didn’t reach the Finals; I like this 1993 team, who tied a franchise record of 60 wins with this win over the Bulls on the final game of the regular season.

While this final win was essentially meaningless—the Knicks already had the top seed in the East locked up—you could argue it was a pinnacle moment in Knicks history in terms of optimism.

Impossible to measure, but walking out of Madison Square Garden with 60 wins, owning home court advantage throughout the playoffs (this win also gave them their 20th consecutive home victory), Knicks fans felt pretty good about their chances to reach the Finals.
